After debate,

In amendment, the Honourable Senator Day moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator Ferretti Barth, that the motion be amended by adding the following words:

"and that, pursuant to rule 131(2), the Senate request a complete and detailed response to the report from the government, with the President of the Treasury Board and the Minister of Finance being identified as Ministers responsible for responding.''

The question being put on the motion in amendment, it was adopted, on division.

The question then being put on the main motion, as amended, it was adopted.

Resuming debate on the motion of the Honourable Senator Oliver, seconded by the Honourable Senator LeBreton, for the adoption of the twelfth report (third interim) of the Standing Senate Committee on National Finance (2005- 2006 Main Estimates—Officers of Parliament), tabled in the Senate on May 19, 2005.

After debate,

In amendment, the Honourable Senator Day moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator Ferretti Barth, that the motion be amended by adding the following words:

"and that, pursuant to rule 131(2), the Senate request a complete and detailed response to the report from the government, with the President of the Treasury Board being identified as the Minister responsible for responding.''
